Your VMG, upwind and down, on your wrist.
VMG watch is a sailing instrument for Apple Watch, with an iPhone app to look back. Speed, VMG and your angle to the wind in numbers you can read in full sun — and every leg worked out after the race.
Built for the race course, not the gym
Made by a formula kite racer for windward-leeward racing, and for anyone who sails to a wind: kites, wings, windsurfers and boats.
Numbers you can read
Speed over ground, VMG and your angle to the wind, huge and heavy on black — green when you work to windward, red to leeward. Readable through polarized sunglasses, at a glance.
Runs under Water Lock: the crown and the buttons are the controls.
The start, eyes-free
One press of the Action Button starts the session and the countdown; every press syncs it. Voice and haptics count you down to the gun without a look at the watch.
The countdown needs an Apple Watch Ultra.
Every leg, worked out
The iPhone draws your route in green and red and splits it into legs, each with its own VMG, angle and speed — not just one average for the race.
Each Apple Watch session is saved to Apple Health and Fitness with its route.
Your race, leg by leg
Open a session and the route is on the map, each leg in the color of its side of the wind. Under it, every leg in a row: its VMG, its angle to the wind, its speed and its time, the best one marked.
The wind comes from the forecast at the start, or is worked out from your legs when it shifted.
What it needs
An Apple Watch with watchOS 26 and an iPhone with iOS 26. The countdown needs the Action Button of an Apple Watch Ultra; on other Apple Watch models VMG watch tracks, shows VMG and analyzes, without the countdown.
What it keeps
Your sessions stay on your devices and in Apple Health. No account, no ads, no analytics. The privacy policy says exactly what leaves your devices.
VMG watch is not a navigation or safety aid. Before you race with it, check what your class rules allow.
